ART FOR THE KINGDOM

A personal story of faith, filmmaking, obedience, and purpose.

For seven years, I preached the Word of God in prisons. During that time, God taught me to recognize His voice, to be guided by the Holy Spirit, and, above all, to live by faith—to trust completely in His ability to provide for every need.
I received no compensation for my work in the prisons, yet God remained faithful and provided for me every step of the way. There were times when His provision was so extraordinary that I would say He had even “paid my rent in advance.”
That experience prepared me for what came next.
When God told me:

“Now you are going to make films that I will use to glorify My name.”
I did not focus on the fact that I had no money to finance them. I had already learned that when God gives the assignment, He also provides what is necessary to fulfill it.
I often explain it this way:
“To a servant, it makes no difference whether his boss sends him to buy a kilo of tortillas or a BMW. His responsibility is to obey; it is the boss who provides the resources.”
That principle has guided much of my life and my work.
When you obey God, surrender to His direction, and allow yourself to cooperate with His purpose, extraordinary things can happen—sometimes, even miracles.
Art for the Kingdom tells the story behind that journey.

In these pages, I share memories from my childhood, including the vacations I spent in northern Mexico, as well as some of my earliest encounters with the spiritual world, drugs, Jesus Christ, and, eventually, the entertainment industry.
I also share the experiences, challenges, lessons, and moments of faith that shaped my life and ultimately led to the creation of ARMAGEDON and a body of work comprising 28 audiovisual productions.
Some stories are deeply personal. Others are unexpected. Together, they reveal the journey behind the films and the faith that has sustained me throughout it.

If Scars (Cicatrices) touched your life, my hope is that this book will speak to your heart in an equally meaningful way.
